Getting a reclaimed wooden bed or bedroom furniture is a great way of doing your bit for the environment, especially when you consider today’s modern throw culture in which we live. Reclaimed wood is basically wood from demolished buildings or unwanted furniture that would otherwise be burnt or sent a landfill.

It is estimated that less than 10% of wood is recycled and at least 3,000 tonnes of timber from demolished buildings is sent to a landfill or burnt every working day in the UK. (more…)

When buying a bed and accompanying mattress it is important that you check the size to ensure you are buying the right sized mattress for your bed.

Underneath are the typical sizes for mattresses to fit all styles of beds from a compact single to a super king size bed, including width and height in imperial and metric measurements. Please note that although these are the measurements for typical mattresses, they are an approximate for beds as their design may mean they are bigger. (more…)
